Vantaa Orchestra's autumn 2023 season program has been published. There is a festive atmosphere in autumn as the orchestra celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.

The first celebration is already in August at the Temppeliaukio church in the Suomalaista kesämusiikkia concert conducted by the 93-year-old legend Jorma Panula. Admission to this concert is free.

The celebrations continue in September, when the Vantaa Orchestra performs its own 75th anniversary concert at Musiikkitalo. The concert will feature the best of the orchestra's diverse history as well as new music from Lauri Porra and the Markku Johansson composition and arrangement competition.

In October, the orchestra will perform the long-awaited Vaiheet concert by Samuli Edelmann. The concert includes songs from albums composed by Toni Edelmann to the texts of Goethe, Hesse and Shakespeare among others. Vantaa Orchestra is completed by Jukka Perko, Leri Leskinen and Matti Paatelma from Samuli's band.

In the We Can Be HEROES concert on the eve of Father's Day in November, the audience will immerse itself in the world of movie music heroes. The concert will include e.g. music from the film Gladiator composed by Hans Zimmer, requested by the audience.

The season ends with the beloved Christmas classic The Snowman, which is performed not only in Musiikkitalo but also in Konserttitalo Martinus.

Vantaa Orchestra is also involved in many collaborative concerts, e.g. with Pepe & Saimaa at Helsinki Festival's Huvila, at the public square concert in Vantaa's Tikkurila and at Petrus Schroderus' record release concert at Musiikkitalo.

Tickets for Musiikkitalo concerts available at Ticketmaster.
