“Predator” single was recorded together with American musician-producer Jonathan Wilson at his studio in Los Angeles. After the single release, the duo is heading to tour the US as an opening act for American alternative rock group Wilco.
Tuomo & Markus, formed by Tuomo Prättälä and Markus Nordenstreng, releases new single today on 11 November. Prättälä’s composition, “Predator”, gives foretaste of duo’s upcoming second album, set to release next year. Together with Jonathan Wilson, they have managed to create a distinctive and colourful soundscape, which supports duo’s trademark that is rich vocal harmony. Predator, originally inspired by unmanned drone attacks made by the Great Powers, surprises the listener with its dynamism and multifaceted interpretations.
The new single was recorded in Los Angeles, at the studio of producer Jonathan Wilson, who was also in charge of playing drums, bass and synthesizer on the piece. The collaboration between Helsinki-based power duo and American producer-musician started a year ago while Wilson was visiting Finland as a soloist of Roger Water’s band. After a fertile recording session in Helsinki, Wilson invited Prättälä and Nordenstreng as his guest to Los Angeles, where they recorded several pieces for they upcoming album. Tuomo & Markus have since performed together with Wilson also on the stage, the last time being in August at Flow festival in Helsinki.
