New double album features guests such as Ricky-Tick Big Band Brass, Eero Koivistoinen, Palecafe and Joyce Elaine Yuille, vocalist of the second single released last Friday. The grandiose album presents Lassy’s music widely and shows him being in top condition with his composing. Timo Lassy Band has announced two album release concerts at G Livelab on 1st and 2nd of June.

Timo Lassy returns on 27th of April with his massive, long-waited album Moves. He released his second single from his upcoming album on Friday 23rd of March. First single “Lashes” is now followed by deeply groovy souljazz piece “Harlem’s Way”, which features New York born Joyce Elaine Yuille as soloist. Lassy and Yuille have collaborated earlier on Yuille’s album Welcome to My World (2015).

“Joyce wrote the lyrics for Harmlem’s Way and who would be better suited to interpret the story than the child of Spanish Harlem herself”, Lassy states.

Timo Lassy Band recently celebrated their ten-year journey together. The band will play two album release concerts at Helskinki's G Livelab on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd of June. The group is formed by pianist and organist Georgios Kontrafouris, bassist Antti Lötjönen, drummer Teppo Mäkynen and percussionist Abdissa Assefa besides Lassy.

Timo Lassy’s sixth album Moves is a monumental double album where saxophonist’s band is heard in many different ensemble combinations. One of the guest is Ricky-Tick Big Band Brass, with which Lassy had two successful and fully booked concerts at Savoy Theatre in March. Other soloist heard on the album are living jazz legend, saxophonist Eero Koivistoinen, rapper Paleface and Joyce Elaine Yuille who features also on another song besides “Harlem’s Way”. In addition to Lassy, compositions are made by Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen, Eero Koivistoinen and Teppo Mäkynen.

“The album’s atmosphere is highlighted by excellent guest stars, the work title of the album was With Friends”, Lassy tells. “Everyone popped over studio very naturally and working was particularly inspirational. The pieces began to take shape in our ten-year celebration tour last year and so it was good to continue working towards finishing album. Cooperation and friendship are themes which can be heard in every song.”
