The spring season of Oulu Music Festival's Jazz & Etno series starts next week

During the spring season of the year-round Jazz & Etno concert series of Oulu Music Festival, audiences can enjoy the top ensembles of domestic jazz and folk music. The season is crowned by the visit of French band Sarāb to Finland. The artistic director of the concert series is saxophonist Jukka Perko.

The spring season of Oulu Music Festival's Jazz & Etno concert series will start on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Teatteri Rio, when internationally renowned jazz pianist Joona Toivanen arrives to celebrate the release of his trio's seventh album. On 25 February 2022, We Jazz will release Joona Toivanen Trio's new and highly anticipated album Both Only.

Oulu Music Festival Foundation will provide its newly acquired Steinway & Sons A-series grand piano for concert use for the first time. During the spring, the grand piano will be heard at concerts at Oulu Music Festival in addition to Joona Toivanen at Teatteri Rio, played by Lenni-Kalle Taipale, Jan Lundgren, Aki Rissanen and several other top pianists.
