Berlin-based Swedish saxophonist Otis Sandsjö’s debut, Y-OTIS, is produced by bassist Frans Petter Eldh, who is known for Amok Amor and has recently raised his profile as a producer. The first single YUNG was released last Friday and it is a weirdly groovy electroacoustic “liquid jazz” treat. The full-length album is set to release on 1st of June.
The next release by We Jazz Records is Swedish saxophonist Otis Sandsjö’s comprehensive album Y-OTIS. Sandsjö and bassist-producer Frans Petter Eldh have created a sound world which is inspired by hip hop and electronic music but does not sound either of them. The music is jazz but it settles outside the box and is suitable under the half-imaginary genre “liquid jazz”. Sandsjö’s music is beat-driven but abstract or avantgarde but rhythmic at the same time.
First single YUNG is looping and piercing hit material, which is perfectly illustrated by landscapes lazily scanning music video.

In addition to Amok Amor Frans Petter Eldh plays bass in Lucia Cadotsch Spekak Low and numerous other groups and is also known for his work as a producer whose imprint has recently heard in productions by labels such as Edition Records and ECM.
