The first Flame Jazz Cruise of the year sees six top groups play on board Viking Grace

The popular Flame Jazz Cruise casts off for the Baltic Sea for the eighth time on Saturday 30 January, seeing six applauded groups take the stages of the ship. Casting off from Turku, the first Flame Jazz Cruise of the year will be dedicated, above all, to drummers. In addition to several Finnish groups led by their drummers, the legendary innovator of drumming, Steve Gadd, honours the concert series with his presence. Gadd will be playing soulful organ jazz with Danes Michael Blicher and Dan Hemmer.

The cruise will be, again, brimming with many kinds of jazz treats. The Flame Jazz Artist of the year, Teppo Mäkynen, will be heard solo and drummer Jukka Eskola will take his new soul jazz combo aboard. The nightclub of the vessel will be filled with danceable soul and funk in the style of the classy Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators and the energetic Tomi Salesvuo East Funk Attack, led by the eponymous drummer.
In addition to the concerts, we will be in for some interesting talk shows with the artists, jam sessions and – naturally – delicious foods and drinks.

Regular cruise ticket admits to all concerts. Welcome aboard!
