The 6th Kirjazz in Valkeakoski in July

Kirjaslampi dance hall is the home for the 6th annual Kirjazz in Valkeakoski. This year the intimate festival dances to Dalindèo.

The headliner of the festival, Dalindèo, is a six-piece hailing from Helsinki. In 2013 they took over the dancefloors and radio waves with their third album 'Kallio'.

Dalindèo is a Finnish jazz-sextet founded and led by composer/producer Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen. The intention of the group is to keep the original jazz spirit alive with danceable rhytms, strong melodies and cinematic soundscapes.

After Dalindèo's early mix of brazilica and jazz the group has developped their style into something more personal: this post-modern style is called "Cinematic Jazz". Drawing on the influence of jazz-composers such as Henry Mancini, Lalo Schifrin and the great Duke Ellington, Valtteri Pöyhönen and his team create high-class jazz-music for the 21st century.

As a live act Dalindèo has gained a reputation as a tight and energetic performer. The bands interplay is as tight as ever after 150+ gigs in Finland and 12 other European countries since the release of debut album "Open Scenes" in 2007.

In addition to Dalindèo, Kirjazz also features local jazz groups and jam sessions.

The full programme and ticket pre-sale will be released later in spring.
