Saimaa Jazz Festival, which is being held for the second time, will bring a total of more than 10 bands to the Savonlinna Cultural Cellar to perform from 2 to 10 July 2022. Five of the concert days culminate in jams open to the public. Branden Lewis (USA) will be the festival's international headliner.
Saimaa Jazz Festival 2022 will be held from 2 to 10 July 2022. During the nine-day event, a wide range of styles will be heard. The bands performing at the festival are united by innovation, personality and a fresh approach to rhythm music. The bands mainly perform their own music, where different music styles are combined. During more than a week, in addition to jazz, e.g. folk music from Finland and Kenya will be featured in the program. Most of the concerts and jams are held at the Savonlinna Cultural Cellar.
Singer-trumpet player Branden Lewis from USA will be the main international guest of the festival. The Grammy-winning artist brings a genuine New Orleans breeze to the festival.
