Teemu Halmkrona has won an international composition competition Scrivere in Jazz with his composition "The Parting of The Ways". The final of the competition was held on 12 September at Sassari, Italy.
Teemu Halmkrona is a Finnish Helsinki-based composer and musician. Finnish UMO Jazz Orchestra and Swedish Norrbotten Big Band, among others, have performed his works. Halmkrona won the divided 2nd price in Esko Linnavalli composition competition in 2013, competing with the same composition.
Scrivere in Jazz is organised every other year and it has been won earlier by two Finns; Kari Ikonen (2004) and Sid Hille (2008).
