The 7-day We Jazz Festival will be held from November 29th to December 5th. The festival program will feature ambient jazz pioneer Tapani Rinne, who will celebrate his new album at Helsinki Contemporary on December 3rd.
Tapani Rinne will present music from his new album Foghornia at We Jazz Festival in Helsinki Contemporary. The album, which will be released in October under the new Finnish label Signature Dark, continues the rugged series of Rinne's ambient-inspired solo works. In the new album the starting line-up, bass clarinet and electronics, has remained the same, but this time Rinne dives into his more melancholic waters all the way to the depths of dark ambient. Foghornia includes dedications to the late founders of Pori Jazz, Jyrki Kangas and Tapani Kontula.
More additions to the festival program will be announced during the autumn. The second performer of the design shop Hakola Shop will be released on 30th September, and the second artist of Kuudes Linja event on 14th October. Guests of the Superposition festival will also be revealed during the autumn.
The health of the audience, performers and staff is of paramount importance to the organizers of We Jazz Festival. The audience capacity of the venues has been significantly reduced to ensure a pleasant and safe experience. We Jazz closely monitors the development of the pandemic situation and the festival is carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the authorities.
