Susanna Aleksandra Quartet On Jazz Finland Tour in May

entry-image

Singer-composer Susanna Aleksandra's quartet is the last of Jazz Finland Spring Tours this year. The foursome tours seven cities, playing compelling tunes from their lates album The Siren, which was released in Finland last year.

Singer-composer Susanna Alexandra and pianist Joonas Haavisto began their collaboration in 2018. These two musicians have a shared vision to create music where multilayered harmonies, meaningful lyrics and strong melodies come together. For them it is important to let the music dictate which direction to go to; occasionally the path is simple and sometimes more complex.

In the quartet's music, the influences of traditional jazz, classical music, pop and folk come together under the umbrella that is modern jazz. In the spring of 2020 the quartet released the album Souls of the Night, which was only distributed in the Japanese market. Eclipse Music released the album for international distribution in the spring of 2021 under the name The Siren, and it is an updated version of the material on Souls of the Night.

Estonian singer Susanna Alexandra has done her Bachelor and Master's in Jazz Performance in the Sibelius Academy in Finland.
