The Finnish-Swiss-Icelandic jazz-prog rock trio Equally Stupid release their second album titled Escape From The Unhappy Society on 27 January, followed by an extensive album launch tour.
Furious and intense yet melodic, this trio's music is built on imaginative compositions and rhythmical layers. Their critically acclaimed debut Exploding Head was released by Finnish label Eclipse Music in February 2014, and now the sophomore Escape From The Unhappy Society comes out on the same label. The new release will be followed by a wide-ranging tour in Finland and Estonia.
This explosive trio is composed of Finnish saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen, Icelandinc guitarist Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson and Swiss drummer David Meier. All three members are active and versatile artists that have been touring with their own projects for over a decade in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Some of their most active projects from the past few years are Elifantree, Dark Forest, Schnellertollermeier, DEFEKT, Laser, Raoul Björkenheim eCsTaSy and Trio Riot.
Equally Stupid

"This is truly rewarding improvisational music, with the two leading instruments straining for boundaries of affinitive dissonance in an appealing percussive soundscape."
