In November, the 18-member Sointi Jazz Orchestra will celebrate the release of its new, fourth studio album in Louhisali at Espoo Cultural Center. Sointi Jazz Orchestra is an exceptional ensemble that renews and enlivens the entire Finnish big band culture.
At the center of the concert is the band's new album Kolibri, which will be released in November, and is a collection of novelties and classics. After the band’s previous two soloist-driven theme albums, the band’s fourth studio album puts the band’s own unique sound and top-level soloists at the center. The album is a song of praise for Sointi Jazz Orchestra's inimitable ensemble and unique line-up. There is a versatile set of nuanced and colorful compositions that have become a trademark of SJO - without forgetting the skillful solos of the band members.
The concert will be held with a small audience capacity, taking safety distances into account. Advance arrangements, safety distances and enhanced hygiene solutions aim to ensure the safest possible experience for customers, performers and staff. The concert demands all participants over the age of 15 to use a face mask.
