Seminal Finnish big band phenomenon Sointi Jazz Orchestra begins its summer season on Sunday 14th June at 18:00. The livestreamed gig includes pearls from SJO's compositions throughout the years.
The concert will include pieces from the band's repertoire that have been published on the albums Syntymä and Saarnaaja. The program will include conductor Rasmus Soini's spring composition Vedenpinta väreilee as well as Oskari Siirtola's apocalyptic Kahta vaille keskiyön. The livestream that is broadcast from Krapin paja is free for all. The link to the stream will be shared via the gig's Facebook event, on Instagram as well as the band's website.

In the autumn SJO club opens with Rebellion
Postponed from the spring season, SJO's jazz club at Music Theatre Kapsäkki will open with the theme "Rebellion" on 19th September. The evening includes variety of interesting big band premieres from young composers, such as Tytti Arola, Teemu Eerola, Joonas Leppänen, Aleksis Liukko, Henri Lyysaari, Tomi Nikku, and year 2020 Teosto-award nominees Mikko Sarvanne, Selma Savolainen and Pekka Seppänen, Oskari Siirtola and Rasmus Soini.
