The Emma Gala was held on Saturday, February 17th, at the Espoo Metro Arena. The most successful artists and music industry professionals of the past year were honored at the 41st edition of the Emma Gala.

The Jazz Emma award was presented to singer-composer Selma Savolainen for her album Horror Vacui. Known for her fearless approach to music-making and impressive vocal style, Savolainen's debut solo album was released in May by the British label Whirlwind Recordings, known for showcasing some of the top talents in contemporary jazz internationally. In addition to modern jazz, Savolainen's English-language songs are influenced by alternative singer-songwriter styles.

The album features a high-caliber lineup of well-known names from the Finnish jazz scene – Toomas Keski-Säntti on piano, Tomi Nikku on trumpet, Max Zenger on clarinets, Eero Tikkanen on double bass, and Okko Saastamoinen on drums.

The Emma Gala broadcast is available for later viewing on Ruutu, where you can also find clips of performances and other highlights from the gala. The largest annual music industry event in Finland, the Emma Gala, is organized by Musiikkituottajat – IFPI Finland ry.
