Fiasko Records releases two Mikko Innanen’s albums in November. With his new ensemble, Autonomous, they release their debut album called “I-XXX”. At the same time Innanen says goodbye to his Mikko Innanen 10+ orchestra with the release of live album “Pori/Malmi”. The album release concert for “I-XXX” takes place at Balder Hall on 4 November.

One of the Finland’s most distinguished musicians, Mikko Innanen has formed a new ensemble, Autonomus, together with his long-standing friends Peter BruunAntti Lötjönen and Håvard Wiik. Autonomus is a four-piece ensemble, series of compositions and a musical philosophy. Consisting of top-class Nordic musicians, the quartet examines and interprets Innanen’s compositions autonomously, and so that each performance is different.

The starting point for new pieces has been Innanen’s hand drawn staves. In the spring 2019, Innanen composed 40 new pieces, which all were recorded in three day. The series of compositions naturally took a form of a three-part album. The music flows forward as an irresistible collective flood, with everyone’s voice hearable most of the time.

While the new ensemble sees the light of the day, Mikko Innanen 10+ comes to an end as an orchestra. To celebrate the seven-year journey of the band, Innanen releases a recording of the orchestra’s two intensive concerts at Pori and Malmi.
