Saxophonist Linda Fredriksson receives Freelancemuusikot ry’s grant 2019

The association of Finnish freelance musicians has awarded their annual grant to saxophonist Linda Fredriksson. Fredriksson works widely in the field of music as a soloist, composer and band leader both in Finland and abroad. During her career she has been part of ensembles such as Mopo, Ricky-Tick Big Band, Ultra Bra among others.

Linda Fredriksson is a versatile musician and one of the most celebrated saxophone soloists at the moment. As a musician, Fredriksson has a strong, distinctive tone, which represents her open and experimental relationship to music. Her rich style exceeding genre boundaries opens new possibilities to the whole community of musicians.

The association of Finnish freelance musicians states that Fredriksson is loyal colleague, who radiates positivity and takes the responsibility for the well-being of her work community. She is an excellent role model for all musicians.

The board has presented the grant of 1000 EUR to Fredriksson on 9 December 2019. The grant is awarded annually to an artist in recognition of outstanding artistic work in the field of freelance musicians.
