SaltFest 2024 artists announced

Last year's festival newcomer SaltFest kicks off its second year with a diverse program. In addition to well-known artists, the four-day festival will feature new promising talents – and guaranteed surprises from different genres of music.

SaltFest 2024 takes place from August 1st to August 4th, 2024, in the maritime town of Loviisa. The festival's equivalent producer Timothy Kühn and artistic director Måns "Dj. Bunuel" Strömberg challenge the audience once again with a fantastic lineup of both global and Finnish music.

"One booking agent told me, 'Great idea you guys have, a couple of big names and then everything else from different margins.' I thought, true, even though no one had thought of it that way. I think it speaks to our times. Categories off, bring the music," says Måns Strömberg.

A conceptual exhibition by Konsta Ojala at Galleria Saltbodan also adds to the program, with its opening celebrated during the festival. This year, more focus will be placed on offerings from local producers and food stalls on the festival grounds, curated by Mika Välimäki from Lovisa Kafferosteri.

The event is supported by Länsi-Kymen Osuuspankki, Brooklyn Breweries, Samuel Huber Foundation for the Arts, the City of Loviisa, and Fortum.

"SaltFest invests in community and revitalizing the city. Energy and community go hand in hand in Loviisa. It's natural for us to support an event whose values we can identify with," says communication and public relations manager Mia Willberg from Fortum.

SaltFest is organized for the second year by Lovisa Konst och Kultur rf, and the event takes place at the maritime Laivasilta (Shipyard) in Loviisa.

"The area is unique, right by the sea, next to historical salt warehouses and the city's guest marina. Last year showed us that there is demand for this kind of sympathetic, moderately priced festival. I would bet that this year, it's worth buying tickets early," enthuses equivalent producer Timothy Kühn.

The Laivasilta area in Loviisa also houses three restaurants, a maritime museum, and two art galleries.
