SaltFest 2024 artist lineup is now complete

The maritime music festival SaltFest, which debuted last year, is on the rise. The artist lineup for summer 2024 is now complete, and best of all, ticket prices remain affordable.

The festival will feature a total of 19 acts, including Vilma Jää, Tinyhawk & Bizzarro, saxophonist Mikko Innanen, Bergå Folk Project (now BFP), Lyyti, Charlotta Kerbs, and Inginmaa & Hypomen, who have collectively won fourteen awards.

– "Music's significance isn't measured by awards, but they are a recognition of good work for musicians. As a program curator, it's a sign to me that I've managed to build a lineup with both well-known and lesser-known performers – the kind who will leave a clear emotional impact on us," says SaltFest's program curator, DJ Bunuel.

An Early Bird ticket for the four-day music festival costs 60 euros. Tickets can also be purchased for individual days.

– "It's important to us that the festival remains affordable. When festival tickets elsewhere cost several hundred euros, you can't talk about accessibility anymore. Not everyone can afford such expensive tickets," emphasizes executive producer Timothy Kühn.

Sunday's Soul & Jazz Time Out at Laivasilta has always been free for the public, playing every summer Sunday regardless of the weather. This event is also organized by Timothy Kühn, with Thomas Törnroos responsible for its musical content.

At Saltbodan, performances are open to all and free of charge. A low threshold is extremely important. Everyone can come and listen, whether they are unemployed or homeless.

– "In jazz, you can play wrong as long as you save the situation. It doesn't matter if it goes off track! Formula races are boring when the cars just follow each other. The best moments happen when someone takes a turn through the grass. That's life. Everyone constantly makes mistakes, but we usually manage somehow. Jazz is human music," explains Thomas Törnroos.

At SaltFest, different music genres blend into a seamless whole. A sympathetic festival where the air smells of the sea.

Måns "DJ Bunuel" Strömberg was awarded the 2023 Svenska Kulturfonden award and the 2022 Music & Media Lifetime Achievement Award.

Festival director and executive producer Timothy Kühn received the 2023 Cultural Award from the City of Loviisa.
