The Finnish-Russian Cultural Forum is developed by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture and the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture to activate and promote direct cultural cooperation between civic organisations, cultural institutions and artists.
The Forum is a continuing process comprising two tasks: continuous partnership activities, including an annual Forum arranged alternately in Finland and Russia, and cooperation between the Finnish and Russian cultural administration.
In 2021, it is the turn of Russian cultural and artistic organizations to make project proposals for Finnish collaborators. The latest open call has received more than 300 interesting project proposals, which can be found at https://www.kultforum.org/fi/hankkeet-ja-haku.
The open call proposals include projects in the field of jazz, including the following:
018/2021 Komi Republic Opera and Ballet Theater
057/2021 Novosibirsk State Philharmonic
089/2021 Mordovian Jazz Orchestra Big Band Saransk
163/2021 Dvizenije movement - jazz studio
253/2921 Jazz Club JFS
Project proposals can be viewed and engaged with at https://www.kultforum.org/fi/hankkeet-ja-haku by 30.5.2021. Project negotiations will take place this year virtually during spring and summer.
