The band will play their final concerts during 2019.

Ricky-Tick Big Band & Julkinen Sana, the grand ensemble of jazz and hip hop, has announced its break-up. The ensemble will be seen at concerts this spring and on summer’s festivals and the last concerts with Paleface, Redrama and Tommy Lidgren are played in December 2019.

Ricky-Tick Big Band, a 17-piece orchestra, led by composer-conductor Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen, will continue its operation also in the future but Pöyhönen says it is now time for all the members of the collective to carry on with their own adventures.

“We wish to thank our fans for the support during all these years. We also want to say thank you for the people in the music industry who believed in us and who had the courage to publish our music and book us to perform at their clubs and festivals.”

Upcoming concerts:

26.1. Ylläs JazzBlues, Äkäslompolo
16.3. Kulttuuritehdas Korjaamo, Helsinki
22.3. Oulun Musiikkijuhlat

The concerts for summer and autums are released later.
