The organizing association Rajatsi ry has decided to cancel the summer 2020 festival. The festival organizers believe that in the present situation it won’t be possible to run the festival in a safe and meaningful way.
The decision was influenced by the Finnish government’s previous decision to ban large events of more than 500 people until the end of July. On Monday, the Finnish government also announced a restriction that prohibits gatherings of more than 50 people for the time being. The city of Raahe has already cancelled its own public events in June and July in the spirit of the government’s policy.
As far as possible, the acts already agreed for this summer will be transferred to the next Raahe Jazz on the Beach, as well as to the Rantajatsit club concert program of the winter season. The 32th edition of Raahe Jazz on the Beach will again gather people and music by the sea on the last weekend of July 2021.
