The jazz program of Ääniä festival, organized in Äänekoski in the last week of July, is now complete. As in the previous year, the festival features a jazz club whose main theme this summer is Finnish-European cooperation.

On Friday Restaurant Wille will offer a diverse range of international influences when KAMA Kollektiv (FIN/GER) from Amsterdam, Mumriq from Gothenburg (SE/FIN) and Ville Lähteenmäki Trio (FIN/NO) from Trondheim take the stage.

Saturday's afternoon concert in the town hall's Valtuustosali will be opened by pianist Antti Lähdesmäki, who is also the festival's jazz curator. After this, the audience will be treated to the solo concert of guitarist Teemu Viinikainen, who rarely gigs these days. The concert features the voices of two different generations of musicians who both hail from central Finland: Lähdesmäki, who currently lives in Copenhagen and is active in the Nordic countries, is originally from Äänekoski, and Viinikainen, one of the most internationally recognized jazz musicians in Finland, is from Hankasalmi.
