Due to the corona situation and the uncertainty related to the coming summer, Pori Jazz will have to cancel the festival planned for this year. However, a concert series will be organized in the summer, as part of which the three-day music event Pori Jazz soi taas will take place on 15–17 July.

Pori Jazz 2021 was to be held between 9–17 July. However, so far there is so little concrete information on the direction of summer public events that it is not possible to plan and prepare a nine-day festival with a total of hundreds of thousands of visitors in the midst of the prevailing uncertainty.

Pori Jazz has been organized since 1966 by the independent association Pori Jazz 66 ry, for which the cancellation of the festival for the second consecutive year means financial challenges. The association humbly hopes that as many of those who have already bought their festival tickets as possible will be able to save and keep their entrance tickets for the summer of 2022, when the main concerts of Pori Jazz will be held on July 14-16.

Tickets sold to Pori Jazz will automatically remain valid until next year and the summer 2022 festival. The tickets retained for 2020 will also be valid at the 2022 Pori Jazz. A small surprise awaits all customers who have kept their tickets at next year’s festival.

Pori Jazz has started discussions on postponing announced performances to 2022. The goal is that as many of the performances scheduled for this year can be hosted in July 2022.

Further information on the validity of tickets already purchased, ticket returns and other ticket policies is available on the event website: www.porijazz.fi/liput

A three-day event at Lokkilava on 15–17 July.

Although the 2021 festival is canceled, Pori Jazz will host a lot of other concerts this summer. The legendary Lokkilava at Kirjurinluoto will host the three-day concert event Pori Jazz soi taas from 15 to 17 July. The concerts will include Verneri Pohjola Quartet, Pepe Willberg & Jukka Eskola Statement, Timo Lassy performing with interesting visitors and Aili Ikonen & Jukka Perko Avara performing Finnish translations of the songs of Dusty Springfield.

A limited number of tickets will be sold for the Lokkilava concerts. The audience capacity of the concert area has not yet been confirmed, as the arrangements will be adjusted as the epidemic situation develops. Concert days are organized with emphasis on safety considerations and will be in compliance with all applicable government regulations.

Tickets for Pori Jazz soi taas will go on sale at Ticketmaster on Friday, May 7 at 9:00. Initially, there will be three-day tickets for sale as well as daily tickets, both of which are available on a limited basis. Additional tickets will go on sale during the summer as regulatory regulations for July public events become more specific.

If Lokkilava's concerts have to be canceled due to the corona situation, the tickets can be returned and the money refunded, except for the Ticketmaster service fee.

In addition to the new Lokkilava event, Pori Jazz will organize concerts at Cafe Pori Jazz in the summer, which is a new café-restaurant at the forefront of Kirjurinluoto. During the summer, a large number of Finnish artists and bands will perform on the terrace and outside the Art Nouveau villa, which opens at the dawn of summer.
