Hosted by vibraphonist Panu Savolainen, Panurama podcast continues this summer in the form of a second season. The podcast series looks into the different aspects of making music with a new guest each episode.
Released on Friday 5th June, the first episode of season 2 sees Savolainen play host to jazz singer Aili Ikonen. The episode focuses on Ikonen's relationship with her voice as her instrument. This summer the other episodes of the season will feature as their guests UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra's first trumpetist Teemu Mattsson, folk musician Maija Kauhanen, saxophone and bass clarinet player Tapani Rinne and also the artistic director of Pori Jazz, Mikkomatti Aro.
Vibraphonist-composer Panu Savolainen is best known i.a. from his European Jazz Competition winning band Herd that celebrated its 10-year anniversary last year. Savolainen was selected as Pori Jazz's Artist of Year in 2010 and besides his musical career has hosted Herd and Panurama clubs at the National Theatre's Lavaklubi since 2012.
The first season of Panurama featured as its guests Vieno Kekkonen, Jaakko Kuusisto, Soili Perkiö, Antti Lötjönen, Vuokko Hovatta and Mauno Järvelä.
