Due to the positive audience feedback received for Oulu Music Festival's March stream concerts, the festival's year-round Jazz & Etno concert series will feature a stream concert in May, when Kadi Vija Key Project arrives in Oulu on a tour organized by Jazz Finland. The stream concert will take place at Restaurant Rauhala on Wednesday May 5, and a live audience of 10 people will be allowed to attend within the public event restrictions. Both stream tickets and on-site tickets to Restaurant Rauhala will go on sale on Wednesday April 21 at Ticketmaster outlets.
Born around singer Kadi Vija, the fresh Key Project released their debut album in May 2020, but the record release tour was postponed a year forward due to corona restrictions. Restaurant Rauhala will host a streaming concert on Wednesday May 5, and Kadi Vija Key Project will presents their debut album Roaming In The Contemporary Society To Make Peace With It.
Kadi Vija Key Project is an innovative band. The quartet's original instrumentation - vocals, bass clarinet, guitar and drums - creates a fascinating and memorable sound that Vija's sound art seamlessly supports. The quartet consists of Finland's number one jazz players: saxophone is played by Max Zenger, familiar from his MAXXXTET band, Tuomo Dahlblom, who guides his own Tuomo Dahlblom Band and is often seen in UMO's ranks, and the drums are nuancedly handled by Herd trio’s Tuomas Timonen.
The concert will be streamed live on Wednesday May 5 at 19:00, after which the concert will be available as a recording until May 12, 2021 at 23:59.
