Grands Formats is a French federation of artists which set up a European network for jazz and improvised music large ensembles four years ago, called Think Big!. The network is launching a call for applications to join in 2022.
The network aims to:
- Bring together artists and large ensembles from all over Europe in a spirit of exchange and solidarity
- Develop collective endeavours to strengthen the outreach and visibility of music performed in large ensembles
- Encourage the ability to travel for artists and new artistic collaborations
- Make the voice of artists heard in debates regarding culture at the European level
The ensembles involved in Think Big! keep in touch throughout the year to exchange informations, resources, and develop communication tools to raise awareness for big band music at a European scale. They meet once a year during Jazzahead! conference or other professional events to discuss their joint projects.
Open call to join network unit 7 March 2022
Large European bands can apply to join the network by 7 March 2022.
