On December 17 Oulu All Star Big Band will perform the familiar Tiernapojat play as a concert version in the Tulindberg hall.
Tiernapojat is a beloved and acclaimed remake of the traditional Tiernapojat play. In the concert version arranged by Rasmus Soini and Siiri Partanen, the familiar stylized melodies are colored by composed orchestral preludes and interludes as well as improvisations. The big band's sound creates a unique ensemble that tunes the audience into the Christmas mood.
Sointi Jazz Orchestra premiered Tiernapojat at Christmas 2014. Their performance has also been released as an album.
