New music from saxophonist Masa Orpana

Saxophonist Masa Orpana’s new digital Matkalla release consists of two new tracks Sisar and Matkalla.

Masa Orpana released two new tarck on Friday 13 December. Matkalla release combines Finnish mindscape, jazz and African rhythms. “Sisar” is a peaceful and beautiful song, in which jazz tones meet Finnish state of mind. The composition brings forward Orpana’s good understanding for melodies. Saxophone melody is supported byt Ville Rauhala’s elegant bass lines and Janne Tuomi’s minimalist percussion tracks. Sami Sippola, known as saxophonist, is this time in charge of the piano.

“Matkalla” composition has drawn inspiration from West African rhythms. Saxophone and piano work on a strong base create by bass and percussion. Simple melody lines, steady rhythms and sharp harmonies take turns like changing landscapes.
