Jazz Voice School Helsinki is a vocal school founded by jazz pedagogs Josefiina Vannesluoma and Riikka Keränen. The school offers private and group lessons on singing, basics of popular music, music theory, songwriting and performance coaching. School welcomes all beginners and advanced singers to a jazz singing course starting in February 2020.
Jazz Voice School Helsinki offers its first Jazz Vocal Course in February. The participants of the Vocal Jazz Course will grow their repertuoire with five new songs, explore the theory of jazz and improvisation. The focus of the course is on the swing and even eights -phrasing and how to use rhythm in different musical contexts.
The members of the course will receive an encompassing list of vocal jazz recordings and get to know the history of jazz vocals. The participants are required to exercise the topics practiced on the lessons on their own time and learn the new tunes by heart. The course will have a final concert in April 2020.
In the future the school is planning to offer private lessons, group lessons, vocal group singing, music theory and songwriting courses.
The founders of the Jazz Voice School Helsinki, Josefiina Vannesluoma and Riikka Keränen, have studied Jazz Music and pedagogue at Sibelius Academy. They are also known from the jazz vocal group Signe, which was recently nominated for Jazz-Emma award.
