New jazz festival Seppo Jazz 2018 is celebrated in Tampere in September

Tampere is having a new jazz festival, as the new Seppo Jazz 2018 is held at Hiedanranta on 2nd of September.

Seppo Jazz 2018 will take place at Lielahti Manor House at Hiedanranta on  2. September from 12 to 17. The festival offers four jazz ensembles during the day.

Performers:

Samanna performs original pop/jazz/folk music and their debut album was released last year by Texicalli Records.

Hot Heroes musicians have played together more than twenty years, and the members, drummer Janne Tuomi, double bassist Ville Rauhal and saxophonist Sami Sippola, are known for several ensembles and they perform with musicians such as Raoul Björkenheim, Jorma Tapio and Iro Haarla. The trio is set to release their new album, “Folkjazz from Finland” via Eclipse Music in September. The album presents nature romanticism and strong interpretations.

Belize is a magical trio, a primeval strength rising from simple elements. Vocalist Kielo Kärkkäinen, guitarist Antti Hyartt and violinist Anri Tuohimäki have a preference for acoustic sound and clear melodic elements. Belize released their debut album “Paisajes y encuentros” in 2017. At Seppo Jazz, the trio performs new material from their next album.

Pelle & Romantiks is an orchestra combinig jazz and poetry. Underground poet Pelle Romantica’s speech is rhythmed by Pirkko Mandola, Ville Rauhala, Sebastian Krühn and Sami Sippola.

The festival welcomes visitors of all ages and has a free entry.
