New jazz club "AMC-klubi" features Finnish and international live jazz acts in the cozy atmosphere of Culture House Telakka in Tampere.
AMC-klubi answers the call for regular live jazz concerts in Tampere. During the fall season, Telakka hosts three AMC nights, featuring both domestic and international acts. The first AMC club is a trio-tripleheader, where the audience gets a rare treat of three extraordinary bands: Norwegian KNYST!, Finnish Virta and Tampere-based Sippola-Rauhala-Tuomi. The second event is a co-production with We Jazz Ltd. The Dutch drummer legend Han Bennink performs with Finnish saxophonist Mikko Innanen first at Kuudes Linja in Helsinki on Saturday and continue to Tampere the following day. The last concert of the start-up season features newly arranged songs throughout the long career of the "First Lady Of Song", Ella Fitzgerald. Aili Ikonen & Tribute To Ella ensemble plays the last concert of the Finnish Jazz Federation's two-week long tour at Telakka.
Annamaija Saarela, the woman behind the AMC club concept, has a strong background in Finnish and international jazz scene. She is the director of the annual Jazz On The Beach festival in Raahe, and she also holds the Chairwoman's post in Europe Jazz Network.
