Masa Orpana's ensembles release new music for two albums on Alba Records.
Saxophonist Masa Orpana has released a lot of new music this year. The EP “Rusty”, which includes jazz with blues, gospel, soul and funk influences, was relesed in June. The album features musicians Ismaila Sané, Saku Järvinen, Mikko Järvinen, Jykä Ahola and Ville Vallila.
In November Orpana’s band, Orpanan Honk, releases their new album Honk. The album consists of Orpana’s own compositions and songs by the great rhythm and blues, jazz and country musicians. In addition to Orpana, the ensemble features guitarist Jonni Seppälä, bassist Ville Vallila drummer Juppo Paavola and a guest star, Saku Järvinen.
This mont also saw the release of a concert album from the Jazzmuseo band recorded at the Pyynikinlinna in Tampere. The same ensemble also performs in churches under the name Holy Land, and have released a live album in 2014.
