Saxman Esa Pietilä's celebrated improvisational quartet Liberty Ship visits also Helsinki on their Jazz Federation tour. The power quartet Pietilä-Rissanen-Lötjönen-Louhivuori set up for a hive-minded performance at Lavaklubi on Thursday 30 October, after their intensive tour in Japan.
The Helsinki-based jazz fans are up for a rare treat, as the Jazz Federation tour of Liberty Ship visits Helsinki on Thursday, October 30 at 7.00pm at Lavaklubi!
The short but wide Finnish tour takes the band all the way from upnorth Kajaani to eastern Joensuu and Turku on the southwestern coast. The five-concert tour ends at Tampere Jazz Happening festival on the first of November, but before that we get to enjoy the group in Helsinki. They just finished their tour in Tokyo, Tochigi and Yokohama:
