The first performers of the Turku Jazz Festival in March have been announced, and Logomo's ticket sales have begun. Turku celebrates the jazz weekend from 4 to 5 March 2022, with performances from e.g. pianist legend Kenny Barron and soulful multi-instrumentalist Nicholas Payton with his energetic trio. The entire festival program and the artist of the year will be announced on December 17th.
On Friday, March 4, 2022, Grammy-winning American musician Nicholas Payton (b. 1973) with his energetic and electric trio will bring international stardust to the Turku Jazz festival stage.
Kenny Barron (b. 1943), who will perform at Logomo's Teatro on Saturday, March 5, 2022, is considered one of the most significant pianists of the modern era of jazz. Barron started his career in Philadelphia during the golden age of hard bop.
Turku Jazz Festival will be held at concert venues and restaurants in the center of Turku from 3 to 6 March 2022. Linda Fredriksson Juniper and Mikko Hassinen Elektro GT featuring Paleface have previously been confirmed as Logomo's performers. The entire program of the festival, more detailed performance schedules and Turku Jazz Artist of the Year will be published on December 17th at Bar Ö and via Facebook Live.
