Kalmari Quartet makes its debut with a 4-concert tour in May 13–17 in Tampere, Turku, Helsinki and Outokumpu. In addition to the quartet Antti Lötjönen and Kalle Kalima will perform as a duo in Tampere, Helsinki and Outokumpu.
Kalmari Quartet is a brand new supergroup, where musicians who have made extensive international careers come together. The strong expression of the Kalmari Quartet stems from diverse experiences and musical views. The original and rich compositions of the band members (Kalle Kalima, Aki Rissanen, Antti Lötjönen and Markku Ounaskari) are skillfully intertwined, creating a deep and multidimensional soundscape. They flow forward energetically, like a mystical squid rising from the depths of the sea, hiding an endless number of secrets.
