The one-day festival was curated by Panu Savolainen for the first time.
Kalkkiranta Jazz, organised last Saturday on 16 August in Sipoo, brought roughly 450 visitors to the maritime milieu of Kalkkiranta. On the sunny festival day, the audience was entertained by soul singer Tuomo, guitar duo Timo Kämäräinen & Teemu Viinikainen and HERD & Aili Ikonen with a special guest Vieno Kekkonen.
As the artistic director of the 21st edition of Kalkkiranta Jazz acted vibraphonist Panu Savolainen – this year for the first time after pianist Iiro Rantala’s long-term directorship. Savolainen will continue in the role next year. Kalkkiranta Jazz is organised by Musiikkia Sipoossa ry. in the grounds of Nordkalk factor in Sipoo’s Kalkkiranta.
