Kaamosjazz is being held in Inari-Saariselkä area from the 21st to 24th of November. The new Art Dir Aarno Cronwall describes the new programme as international and of top quality.
"The highlight of this year's lineup is English jazz vocalist Claire Martin, who has received critical acclaim on international platforms", says Cronwall, who also trusts the Finnish jazz acts to bring the jazzy ambiance to the Lappish winter. The blue-and-white flag is carried at the festival by Linkola & Luolajan-Mikkola Quartet, Seppo Hovi's Band featuring Antti Sarpila, Matti Johannes Koivu, Alvi's Dixie Stompers and as a cherry on the top, HERD & Aili Ikonen with their "Jazzbasilli" repertoire.
The venues are Tankavaara's Gold Museum, Kakslauttanen's Santa's Resort (known for their glass igloos), Sami Culture Centre Sajos in the center of Inari, Santa's Hotel Tunturi in Saariselkä Skiing Center, Lapland Hotel Riekonlinna, Restaurant Kaunispään huippu, Restaurant Petronella, Saariselkä's Mountain Chapel and Ski Saariselkä Resort.
