Finnish bassist and composer Jukka Haavisto is featured on the album Curiosity Session Vol. 1 – Flamenco in My Heart by the international Curiosity Meeting ensemble. Released in 2025, the album is included in the 2026 Esprit Awards voting by Slovak jazz media.
On the album, flamenco meets international jazz and crossover expression. The ensemble features, among others, Flaco de Nerja, Jannis Raptis, Erik Rothenstein, Jukka Haavisto and Jorge Palomo. Haavisto contributes to the album both as a musician and composer, and the album features his composition Cross Waves.
Alongside his international collaboration, Haavisto is also preparing to release a new album of his own. Jukka Haavisto – Löyly Syndicate will release the album Juniper Path on October 16, 2026. The production of the album has been supported by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation.
Juniper Path continues Haavisto’s bass-driven and narrative musical expression, bringing together Finno-Ugric melodies, the soundscapes of Nordic jazz and the energy of modern electronic fusion jazz.
The album release concert will be held at G Livelab Tampere on October 22, 2026.
