Joonas Tuuri Quartet on Jazz Federation tour on May 10–20

entry-image

Bassist Joonas Tuuri leads his quartet to a seven-concert tour from the Northern city of Oulu all the way to the other side of the Baltic Sea, to Tallinn. The group released their debut album Dimensions in 2022, and collected over two Million Spotify streams to it.

Hailing from the Kitee in Northern Carelia, and later on Helsinki-based bassist Joonas Tuuri has claimed reputation in such indie jazz darlings as JAF Trio, Bowman Trio and Selma Juudit Alessandra. The 2022-released Dimensions by Eclipse Music is Tuuri's debut as band leader. The strong, melodic expression that is heard both on record and on tour, echoes with 60's Miles Davis and Wayne Shorter, spiced up with Tuuri's original twist. Dimensions has reached over 2 Million streams in Spotify, with the support of the popular Coffee Table Jazz ja Relaxing Jazz Piano playlists.
