Jazz Street will be built on Pori’s Eteläranta for next summer’s Pori Jazz. Jazz Street is a place to listen to music, chat and enjoy the services of restaurants and stalls. Jazz Street will be open during the festival week from Wednesday 16 July to Saturday 19 July.

The main part of the new Jazz Street is located between the Satakunta Museum and the Taavi Bridge. In addition, Teatterikatu will have a traditional stage offering admission free program. The terrace area on Jazz Street will be located at the Barco restaurant ship. In the Eteläranta area, sales outlets will be located mainly in front of the Satakunta Museum.

”The look of the Eteläranta has evolved in a good direction due to the renovations, and Pori Jazz wants to bring the old Jazz Street atmosphere to the Kokemäenjoki riverfront. This has been much talked about and much desired, so the aim is for people to rediscover this festival environment,” says Sampsa Jolma, CEO of Pori Jazz.

Debates on the Jazz Street stage

Pori Jazz’s partner in producing Jazz Street is Satakunnan Viikko, who also have experience in organizing Satakunta Fairs and selling stands. A new program at Jazz Street is the Business Forum discussion event on Wednesday and Thursday of the festival week, which will take place on the Jazz Streets admission free stage. The discussions will be hosted by Keijo Leppänen, former MTV3 news anchor, and will feature local and national business leaders. The debates, which are open to all and free of charge, will also be filmed and later broadcast on TV. Pori Jazz is one of the main partners of the Enterprise Forum. The Enterprise Forum is organized by Satakunnan Viikko.

Applications for Jazz Street vendors and outlets will start in week 12.
