The Helsinki-based festival and label We Jazz visits Savoy Theatre with a solid star lineup featuring two of the greatest living legends of jazz, Kenny Barron and Dave Holland, who present their new trio featuring younger generation drum great Johnathan Blake.
Barron is considered one of the most influential pianists of the modern jazz era and the same applies for Dave Holland, famously hand-picked by Miles Davis to begin his US career in 1968, with regards to his instrument, the double bass. Drummer Johnathan Blake is often ranked as one of the most inspiring drummers of his generation. The evening will begin with a solo performance by Finnish double-bassist Ville Herrala, who will perform music from his new solo album to be released by We Jazz Records in February 2020.
