The fall of Jazz Jkl kicks off this week. The first monthly jazz club of the local Jazz Jkl Collective will be held in Poppari restaurant on Saturday 12th September. Pauli Lyytinen Magnetia Orkesteri will perform at Poppari on Thursday 24th September.

Jazz Jkl Collective will perform at Saturday's jazz club in Poppari on September 12 in the spirit of the partnership between guitarist Wes Montgomery and pianist Wynton Kelly. This time, the band's own soloists, guitarist Tuomas Paukku and pianist Marian Petrescu are in the spotlight at the club.

Pauli Lyytinen Magnetia Orkesteri will perform at Restaurant Poppari on Thursday 24.9. The highly improvising line-up has recently released its second album, and accompanied by a release tour, the band will finally reveal the full spectrum of their colorful emotional scale in Jyväskylä as well. Saxophonist Pauli Lyytinen is one of Finland's boldest and most unique jazz musicians. Verneri Pohjola, one of the most internationally acclaimed Finnish trumpet players, Eero Tikkanen, a bassist known from the Mopo band, and Mika Kallio, a drummer with his own elegance, will play with Lyytinen in the top line-up.

A year of guitarists

The theme of the Jazz Jkl's concert year 2020 has become the role of the guitar in jazz music, and there are plenty of guitarists in the program for the autumn season. Jazz Jkl Live concerts include e.g. Olli Soikkeli Trio, Emma Salokoski & Jarmo Saari Duo, Quartet Ajaton, Dalindéo and Tuomas Paukku Scription. During the autumn, Jazz Jkl Collective's soloists will be e.g. saxophonists Jukka Perko (Sat 17.10.) and Joonatan Rautio (Sat 28.11).

The autumn 2020 concert calendar has been published on Jazz Jkl's website.
