Crest Jazz Vocal takes place in Crest, Drôme in Southeast France between 28 to 31 July 2020.
The association, Festival de la Vallée de la Drôme, has as its purpose the encouragement of jazz, and vocal jazz especially through organizing the Crest Jazz Vocal festival. Within this framework, during the week of the festival, the International Competition of Jazz Vocals takes places; this competition is intended for jazz vocal groups, and includes current expressions such as improvised music.
The competition aims to promote and support emerging talents, the definition of “emerging” being left to the discretion of the organizers. Groups already having contracts with major recording companies are excluded. The age and nationality of the artists are in no way considered as criteria for selection.
Entry applications should be sent before 6 January 2020.
The 1st prize will be 2000€ + a performance on the festival’s main stage on Saturday 1 August 2020 + an opportunity to play concerts in the festival's geographical area. The 2d prize will be worth 1000€. The winner of the Audience Award will be invited to perform in the 2021 festival

Thursday 26 september 2019: call for applications
Monday 6 January 2020: closing date for applications
Monday 3 February 2020: announcement of the 8 selected finalists. The 8 finalist bands are paid for their performance.
28 to 31 July 2020: competition
Friday 31 july 2020: decision of the jury and announcement of the results
Saturday 1st August 2020: presentation of the awards and performance by the winner on the main stage
