Nationally renowned jazz musicians will once again take the stage on Friday, August 25th. In the evening concert led by Jari Perkiömäki, international and domestic jazz talents will be heard in the unique environment along the Kymijoki river. Hundreds of students from Kouvola's elementary schools will also have the opportunity to enjoy the enchantment of jazz as part of Kouvola's cultural education program Lennokki.

In the school-oriented concerts of InkJazz, the goal of Kouvola's cultural education program Lennokki is realized by giving every fourth-grade student the opportunity to explore high-quality music and art. The school concerts are organized in collaboration with Kouvola's cultural services and elementary schools. In addition to these, ninth-grade students from elementary schools can attend the InkJazz evening concert at Ankkapurha free of charge with a K9 card, if there is space available.

Led by Jari Perkiömäki, the All Stars lineup features fresh talents and well-known musicians

Artistic director of the InkJazz event is Jari Perkiömäki, a doctor of music, saxophonist, and conductor. He has a long professional career as a performing artist, teacher, leader, and influencer in the cultural field. Currently, Perkiömäki serves as the chairman of the board of the Pori Jazz Festival, among other roles. He has been the artistic director of InkJazz since 2009.

For the InkJazz event, Perkiömäki brings together a lineup that combines youthful energy with diverse domestic and international experience. The vocalist is Riikka Keränen, who released her debut album A Vision of a Garden last year. Pianist Toomas Keski-Säntti, currently pursuing further studies in New York, showcases his skill. Drummer Ville Pynssi, known from Dallape Orchestra and Sami Saari's Jazz Boys, is on the drums. On double bass is the accomplished Finnish jazz musician Antti Lötjönen, and on the trumpet is Vid Šketa, a young talent from Slovenia who resides in Finland.

The evening concert starts at 7 PM. The ticket price is €25. Advance tickets can be purchased at the main library of Kouvola until Wednesday, August 23. Tickets will also be sold at the door one hour before the concert.
