Hietsu Is Happening! Goes Gilgamesh on 22 October

Hietsu Is Happening concert series takes place at Hietaniemen Paviljonki and features six artist gathering around the oldest epos in the world.

The curators of the multi-art-form event series, guitarist Petri Kumela, bassist Antti Lötjönen and saxophonist Mikko Innanen welcome poet Lauri Vanhala, vocalist and celloist Anni Elif Egecioglu (Elinfantree) and drummer Simo Laihonen (Black Motor) as their guest.

The evening at Hietsu Paviljonki offers an intimate, all-embracing experience, which gives a new, lively interpretation to “Kunne kuljet Gilgamesh”; Lauri Vanhala’s, version of ancient Mesopotamia tale.

Poet and writer Lauri Vanhala’s fourth work Graavatun tarunat ja lorunot includes narrative poems and lyric collection of poems and it features a new interpretation of Gilgamesh, the oldest epos in the world. The work is presented by Lauri Vanhala and with five musicians together and separately at Hietsu Is Happening on 22 October.
