Helsinki-based mini big band Njet Njet 9 Tour Finland

Led by keyboardist Ville Kyttälä the unstoppable 9-piece hits the road at the turn of January and February.

The Eclipse Music signee Njet Njet 9 threw a lauded show at last November’s Tampere Jazz Happening and has received acclaim in such major Finnish newspapers as Helsingin Sanomat and HBL. Now the Finnish nine-piece will set out on a Finnish tour in late January and early February, comprising all the biggest cities of the country. In addition to their newish sophomore, Dark Soul, the group will be performing selected picks from their older repertory. The tour is co-produced with the Finnish Jazz Federation.

Led by composer-keyboardist Ville Kyttälä, the outfit has already been noted abroad and no wonder: in its ranks we find such notable young professionals as Linda Fredriksson and Eeti Nieminen of Mopo, trumpeter Martti Vesala whose name has appeared in the jazz Bible Downbeat, and Ville Vannemaa, one of Finland’s most sought-after freelance saxophonists.

Combining different styles without fear or prejudice, the group sets out to stretch the boundaries of jazz music. Their catchy pieces and energetic live shows have not only won over friends of jazz but also earned them fans from outside the jazz scene.

Said about Njet Njet 9 and their album Dark Soul:

“A very refreshing and adventurous album.” – Juhani Kansi, YLE, 2018

“A big fateful sound meets a breezy drive and incredible dexterity.” – Katri Kallionpää, Helsingin Sanomat, 2017
