DJs Didier, Fredrik Lavik, Eero Löyttyjärvi and Nivexxx will be treating us to organic sounds. In future, live music will be part of the repertoire.
The sub-brand of We Jazz Oy, Hei Hei Media, organises its first event on Friday 11 July at Kuudes Linja. The debut club’s focus is on African music, jazz soul and Latin grooves as four top DJs select the best exemplars from each genre: DJ Didier, the driving force behind soul label Timmion Records, Fredrik Lavik, who recently complied a recordful of Kenyan sounds for British Soundway label, Eero Löyttyjärvi, a familiar face from We Jazz DJ collective and Bassoradio Lauantaijatsit programme and Matti Nives a.k.a. Nivexxx, a key figure behind both We Jazz and Hei Hei Media. Didier and Nives are known to lovers of jazz and jazz-related music from Radio Helsinki, where both gents host their weekly shows.
The sub-brand of We Jazz, Hei Hei Media specialises on communicating and content providing. Hei Hei was launched early this year. Now Hei Hei branches out by organising its first club. The aim is to provide a channel for such musical currents that fall out of We Jazz’s sphere. Hei Hei will organise club events and live music clubs also in the future, welcoming a wide variety of different musical genres.
