Pori Jazz 2024 kicks off on Friday, July 12th, and as usual, it features a diverse array of free concerts in addition to the ticketed performances.
From July 12th to 16th, concerts will be held at Winston Live, Panimoravintola Beer Hunter’s, Cafe Anton, Cafe Pori Jazz, and the summer pedestrian street. Performers include Signe, Olli Soikkeli Trio, Sami Leponiemi Quartet, Hamid Moeini Band, Adele Sauros Quartet, Freezer, and Héctor Lepe Quartet. The international flair is brought by Swedish singer Isabella Lundgren, who will perform with Riitta Paakki Trio. Additionally, there will be evening jam sessions at Winston Live every day from July 12th to 16th.
The popular Jazz It Up! show, which was a hit at last summer's main concerts, will be part of the free and all-ages program at Promenadisali on Monday, July 15th, and Tuesday, July 16th. This production, combining dance, live music, and video art, features dancers from POSTPOSTRENEFEST, musicians from Palmgren Conservatory, and vocalist Viia Koivula.
Kirjurinluoto Jazz Park opens on Wednesday, July 17th, featuring two stages: the free and all-ages Poriljonki stage, organized in cooperation with Satakunnan Osuuskauppa, and the previously announced ticketed program at Cafe Pori Jazz. On July 17th, the Lokkilava stage at Kirjurinluoto will also offer free programming, including the main concert day of Pori Jazz Kids and all-ages evening concerts by Kasmir and Sara Bee.
The Poriljonki stage performers (July 17-20) include Peela, Joonatan Henriksson Quintet, Marjo Leinonen & Publicans, Vili Mustalampi, Osmo Ikonen & Lenni-Kalle Taipale, Vesa Aaltonen Prog Band, Jaska Lukkarinen One For Joe, Perillä, and Lauri Schreck & Puhuri. International acts on the Poriljonki stage include the German Matti Klein Trio and the Italian Emiliano D’Auria feat. Luca Aquino. The collaboration with the local Validi Karkia continues with three concerts featuring Kuusumun Profeetta, Aija Puurtinen & Brooklynin satu, and Maija Kauhanen.
In total, Pori Jazz 2024 offers 106 concerts, with 60 of them being free. The festival is produced by Pori Jazz 66 ry.
