The 2020 Emma Award nominees were announced today. The awards will be presented at the largest and most prestigious annual music awards event in Finland at the Emma Gaala in May. The Jazz-Emma nominees in 2020 are Jussi Lehtonen Quartet, Mortality, Riitta Paakki Quartet, Superposition and Verneri Pohjola.
The winners will be chosen at Helsinki's Hartwall Arena on Friday 14 May at the Emma Gaala. The 35th Emma Gaala offers a unique opportunity to see the most successful Finnish artists and bands of the year performing during the same evening.
Emma Gaala, which is organized in a corona-safe manner and in accordance with government regulations, is open to the public and tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster. Updated instructions can be found here. The gala can also be watched live on Nelonen and Ruudu starting at 19.00.
